By accessing or using YouVerseBooks ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. YouVerseBooks is operated by FJ Cognitive, LLC, a California limited liability company. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our Service.

2. Description of Service

YouVerseBooks provides personalized children's book creation services. You upload photos, customize characters, and we create and print personalized illustrated books featuring your family members.

3. User Accounts

To use certain features of our Service, you may need to create an account. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Providing accurate and complete information
  • Notifying us of any unauthorized use

4. Photo Upload and Usage

By uploading photos to our Service, you:

  • Confirm you have the right to use and share these photos
  • Grant us a limited license to process and use the photos for book creation
  • Confirm that individuals in the photos (or their guardians) have consented to their use
  • Agree not to upload inappropriate, offensive, or illegal content

5. AI-Generated Content and Quality

YouVerseBooks uses artificial intelligence technology to transform your photos into illustrated characters for your personalized book. By using our Service, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

  • Quality Variability: AI-generated illustrations may vary in quality depending on factors including photo quality, lighting, poses, facial angles, and the inherent limitations of current AI technology.
  • Multiple Options: We typically provide 2 or more character illustration options per scene for you to choose from. However, the number and quality of options may vary.
  • No Quality Guarantee: Due to the nature of AI image generation, we cannot guarantee the quality of generated images for each scene or character pose. Results may differ from expectations.
  • Best Effort Service: We strive to produce the best possible results, but AI technology has inherent limitations that may affect output quality.
  • Photo Requirements: For best results, we recommend uploading clear, well-lit photos with faces clearly visible. Poor quality source photos may result in lower quality illustrations.

Before completing your purchase, you will be asked to acknowledge that you understand these limitations. This acknowledgement is required to proceed with your order.

6. Orders and Payment

  • Prices and the applicable currency are shown at checkout before payment, and are subject to change
  • Payment is required before production begins
  • You will receive order confirmation via email
  • Shipping times are estimates and not guaranteed

7. Refunds and Returns

Due to the personalized nature of our products, we handle refunds on a case-by-case basis:

  • If your book arrives damaged, we will replace it at no charge
  • If there is an error in production, we will reprint your book
  • If you are unsatisfied with the quality, contact us to discuss options
  • Refund requests must be made within 30 days of delivery

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, illustrations, and content, is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our permission.

You retain ownership of your uploaded photos. The final personalized book is for personal, non-commercial use only.

9. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Upload content that infringes on others' rights
  • Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the Service
  • Use automated systems to access the Service without permission
  • Resell or commercially exploit the Service or products

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, YouVerseBooks shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
