About YouVerseBooks
Every child, everywhere in the story.

Making every child the hero of their own story
YouVerseBooks was born from a simple idea: what if children could see themselves at the center of every story, exploring far-off places, naming the big feelings inside, and becoming the heroes of their own adventures?
We combine beautiful illustration with technology that keeps each face genuinely recognizable, to create truly personalized books that children treasure. Not just a name on a page, but their actual face, their family, their story. Our books teach kids about the world they live in and the world inside them: from geography and cultural awareness to naming big feelings and growing in kindness. Each one is an engaging adventure they want to read again and again.

Our Story
A note from our founder, Dang Ngo
I never planned to make children’s books. But looking back, maybe I was always heading here.
My first real job out of UCLA was at an educational-technology company, where I built websites and systems that helped hundreds of thousands of high schoolers across the US explore and apply to colleges. I’ve been making technology that helps young people learn for almost my whole career.
Then I picked up a camera. As an award-winning photographer, my work ran in the New York Times, Newsweek, and The Lancet, and earned an Editor’s Choice spot in MSNBC’s “Year in Pictures.” I became obsessed with how a single image makes you feel.
After a Master of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University, I spent 17 years in global health across Asia, helping governments fight HIV, TB, and malaria so kids in the hardest places could survive and grow up.
And then one night, my daughter and I were reading an adventure story together, and she got so excited she said she wished that were her in the story.
So I made one.
YouVerse is everything I’ve learned, pointed at a single thing: an edtech builder’s instinct, a photographer’s eye, a public-health obsession with getting the details right, and a father’s wish to let his child see herself as the hero. Every book is personalized to your child, with care given to the light, the color, and the details, so the hero on the page feels like them and not a generic character with their name dropped in.
Real adventures. Real family. Really them.
